In a September 3 post on X (formerly Twitter), Teng wrote: The video shows Gambaryan pleading with guards for a wheelchair, but his requests were ignored, and he was forced to walk with only a crutch. His deteriorating condition has raised serious concerns, particularly after a Nigerian doctor at Kuje prison, where Gambaryan is being held, failed to produce a required medical report. An arrest warrant was issued for the doctor in July due to his failure to appear in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As Gambaryan\u2019s case draws more attention, U.S. officials are increasing pressure on Nigeria to release him.
