Alongside USDT, Kraken will phase out support for PayPal USD, Tether EURt (EURT), TrueUSD (TUSD), and TerraClassicUSD (UST) for European users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese changes ultimately ensure Kraken remains compliant and is able to provide its exceptional trading experience to European clients for the long term,\u201d the company stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-phased-delisting-to-minimize-market-disruptions\">Phased Delisting to Minimize Market Disruptions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure a smooth transition, Kraken will implement a gradual delisting process in line with guidelines from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>February 13<\/strong>: Kraken will set all margin pairs involving these stablecoins to \u201creduce-only\u201d mode for clients in the European Economic Area (EEA). This means users can only reduce or close existing margin positions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>February 27<\/strong>: The affected tokens will enter \u201csell-only\u201d mode, allowing EEA clients to trade but preventing new deposit addresses from being generated for tokens like USDT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March 24<\/strong>: Kraken will halt all spot trading for these assets, automatically closing open orders and converting remaining holdings into other cryptocurrencies or fiat currencies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March 31, 2025<\/strong>: Any remaining holdings of these stablecoins in EEA accounts will be converted into an equivalent stablecoin.
