This decision follows a Feb. 27 letter from prosecutors stating they expected to provide the defense with the newly discovered evidence by the end of the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government\u2019s letter noted that the evidence includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Data from various electronic accounts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Materials from third-party entities and individuals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This delay grants Kwon\u2019s legal team additional time to examine the new information before proceeding with the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-massive-data-dump-in-kwon-s-case\">Massive Data Dump in Kwon\u2019s Case<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Prosecutors have already provided Kwon\u2019s defense with 600 gigabytes of data from four of his previously owned cellphones, along with emails from both his personal and business accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other key materials handed over to the defense include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Documents related to Kwon\u2019s extradition to the U.S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FBI records on evidence collected in Montenegro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Statements Kwon made to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Records of cryptocurrency trading data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-background-terra-s-collapse-and-kwon-s-legal-battle\">Background: Terra\u2019s Collapse and Kwon\u2019s Legal Battle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Do Kwon was the co-founder of Terraform Labs, the company behind the Terra Luna ecosystem, which collapsed in May 2022. The crash wiped out $60 billion in market value after its stablecoin, TerraClassicUSD (USTC), lost its peg and fell below $0.01, triggering a panic-driven selloff of Terra Luna Classic (LUNC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following Terra\u2019s downfall, Kwon moved between Singapore and Dubai before being arrested in Montenegro in March 2023 for attempting to travel with a fake Costa Rican passport.
