The company now holds 6,796 Bitcoin\u2014worth approximately $707 million\u2014cementing its position as the largest Bitcoin holder in Asia and the tenth-largest globally, according to BiTBO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-metaplanet-s-strategic-accumulation-surges\">Metaplanet&#8217;s Strategic Accumulation Surges<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 12, Metaplanet announced the acquisition of 1,241 Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $101,843 per BTC, marking its highest individual buy to date. CEO Simon Gerovich commented on X, \u201cMetaplanet now holds more Bitcoin than El Salvador. From humble beginnings to rivaling nation-states, we\u2019re just getting started.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Metaplanet began its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy in April 2024. The firm has made a series of large buys in recent months, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>May 7:<\/strong> Acquired 5,555 BTC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>April:<\/strong> Conducted four purchases totaling 18,586 BTC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March:<\/strong> Completed six purchases totaling 18,925 BTC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With an average BTC purchase price of $91,000, Metaplanet\u2019s portfolio shows strong conviction in the digital asset as a long-term store of value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El Salvador Falls Behind<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>El Salvador, once a pioneer among nation-states for adopting Bitcoin, now holds 6,714 BTC valued at approximately $642 million. While still the sixth-largest country holder of Bitcoin, it has now been surpassed by a corporate entity that began its accumulation less than a year ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Metaplanet also reported a Bitcoin Yield\u2014the change in BTC holdings per fully diluted share\u2014of 38% for the current quarter and 95.6% for Q1 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saylor Teases Another Strategy Buy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Bitcoin heavyweight Michael Saylor may be preparing for yet another acquisition. On May 12, he posted a cryptic \u201cConnect the dots\u201d message alongside a chart from the \u201cSaylor Tracker,\u201d which monitors Strategy\u2019s Bitcoin portfolio.
