The move comes as global regulators intensify scrutiny following the U.S. Treasury\u2019s designation of Huione as a significant money-laundering concern. This shift underscores OKX\u2019s renewed effort to restore its credibility after facing U.S. enforcement actions earlier in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-the-huione-flagging-matters\">Why the Huione Flagging Matters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Huione Group, headquartered in Cambodia, was identified by the U.S. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) in May 2025 as a \u201cfinancial institution of primary money laundering concern.\u201d According to FinCEN, Huione processed more than $4 billion in illicit funds between August 2021 and January 2025 through its subsidiaries\u2014Huione Pay, Huione Crypto, and Haowang Guarantee. These entities allegedly facilitated crypto scams, cyber heists (some tied to North Korea), and large-scale investment fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FinCEN\u2019s designation effectively bars U.S. financial institutions from maintaining accounts for Huione, cutting off its access to the U.S. banking system.
