The asset management firm believes strong institutional demand, lower Bitcoin supply, and better market conditions could support the next major rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forecast adds to growing optimism in the cryptocurrency market. Many investors now see Bitcoin as more than a speculative asset. Instead, they view it as a long-term store of value, often compared with digital gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-etf-inflows-and-halving-impact-support-bitcoin-price\">ETF Inflows and Halving Impact Support Bitcoin Price<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jan van Eck, CEO of VanEck, said Bitcoin\u2019s current market setup looks similar to earlier post-halving cycles. In past cycles, Bitcoin often gained strongly about 12 to 18 months after each halving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest Bitcoin halving took place in April 2024. It reduced miner rewards and slowed the creation of new Bitcoin. Therefore, supply became tighter at a time when spot Bitcoin ETFs continued to attract large inflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VanEck\u2019s research team also pointed to several signs of long-term confidence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bitcoin reserves on exchanges are falling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More companies are adding Bitcoin to their treasury plans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Institutional investors are playing a larger role<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-term holders appear less willing to sell<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These trends suggest that Bitcoin\u2019s market has changed. Earlier rallies relied heavily on retail traders. However, the current cycle has stronger support from ETFs, companies, and large investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-volatility-remains-a-key-risk\">Volatility Remains a Key Risk<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>VanEck also warned that Bitcoin volatility will likely remain high. The cryptocurrency has seen sharp price drops during past bull markets. As a result, investors should not treat any forecast as guaranteed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, the firm believes Bitcoin\u2019s long-term path remains positive. Lower interest rates, improving liquidity, and wider crypto adoption could help risk assets.
