A federal grand jury accused Sedric Louis, John Davis, and Martel Williams, all from the St. Louis area, of conspiring to interfere with commerce by robbery. Prosecutors allege the men traveled to Connecticut in 2024, where they conducted surveillance and prepared for a home invasion targeting the family of an individual linked to the massive Bitcoin theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities said the suspects gathered equipment that included walkie talkies and air rifles while monitoring the victims’ residence. However, investigators believe the group abandoned its plan after fearing it had been detected by home security cameras. Although that attempt failed, prosecutors allege a separate group later carried out a violent kidnapping involving the same family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latest indictment adds another chapter to a case that has already resulted in multiple guilty pleas. Earlier this year, Missouri resident Saif Faiq admitted his role in the conspiracy, while California resident Adam Iza also pleaded guilty to charges connected to planning the attempted robbery and kidnapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to prosecutors, investigators determined the kidnapping victims were the parents of an individual accused of participating in the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin.
