The pilot selected 20 use cases from 39 proposals submitted by more than 50 institutions, including banks, asset managers and technology companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-testing-tokenized-financial-assets\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Testing Tokenized Financial Assets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ita\u00fa was selected for a use case covering debentures and investment funds. The tests will examine how both asset classes can operate on the same DLT infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-pilot-will-simulate-several-stages-of-the-financial-lifecycle-including\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The pilot will simulate several stages of the financial lifecycle, including:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Asset structuring and issuance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfers between participants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corporate and fund-related events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Settlement and transaction processing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project will operate in a controlled environment without real-money movements or investor participation. That approach allows financial institutions to evaluate operational and compliance requirements before any broader commercial deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-brazil-builds-institutional-tokenization-infrastructure\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brazil Builds Institutional Tokenization Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ita\u00fa has already established a digital-assets business and has explored blockchain technology for several years. Its participation in the pilot therefore represents an extension of an existing strategy rather than a standalone experiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development also comes as Brazilian regulators increase their focus on tokenized securities. In July, Brazil&#8217;s securities regulator created a dedicated working group to study tokenization and propose an experimental regulatory framework covering registration, custody, trading and settlement on distributed ledgers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For financial institutions, tokenization could eventually streamline asset issuance and settlement while reducing operational friction. However, the current pilot remains experimental. ANBIMA expects the testing phase to run for about six months, with lessons shared across the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The significance extends beyond Ita\u00fa. Brazil is testing whether blockchain can become part of regulated capital-market infrastructure, rather than simply serving as technology for cryptocurrencies.
