The transferred coins represent roughly 9% of the company&#8217;s last disclosed 43,000 BTC holdings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-wallet-transfers-raise-questions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wallet Transfers Raise Questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On-chain tracker Lookonchain initially identified a 1,473 BTC transfer before reporting total outflows of 3,881 BTC over roughly three hours. However, moving Bitcoin between wallets does not necessarily mean a company has sold the asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Metaplanet could transfer coins between custodians, cold storage addresses, trading accounts, or financing arrangements. Therefore, the destination of the Bitcoin will matter more than the transfer itself when determining whether ownership actually changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Metaplanet&#8217;s official disclosures show that it held 43,000 BTC as of June 30. The company&#8217;s website also continues to list 43,000 BTC as its reported treasury balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-bitcoin-price-puts-treasury-under-pressure\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bitcoin Price Puts Treasury Under Pressure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At around $63,600, Bitcoin remains well below the acquisition price estimated by on-chain analysts. Lookonchain estimated that Metaplanet acquired its 43,000 BTC at an average price of about $96,191, putting the position roughly $1.4 billion below that estimated cost basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That figure represents an unrealized mark-to-market loss, not a realized cash loss. Metaplanet previously reported substantial accounting losses from Bitcoin valuation changes while continuing to expand its treasury strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company&#8217;s latest official disclosures show that its Bitcoin holdings grew by 2,823 BTC during the second quarter, reaching 43,000 BTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-what-investors-will-watch-next\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Investors Will Watch Next<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investors are likely to focus on where the 3,881 BTC moved and whether Metaplanet provides a formal explanation. A transfer to another company-controlled address would not indicate a disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A confirmed exchange deposit could raise stronger questions about potential selling, although even that would not prove that a trade occurred.
