The FBI said investigators used court-authorized warrants and information from human sources to identify, trace and seize cryptocurrency linked to Hamas&#8217; military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-crypto-network-targeted\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crypto Network Targeted<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Justice Department, investigators seized approximately $560,000 through actions conducted between March 2025 and October 2025. The funds originated from cryptocurrency addresses promoted through online fundraising channels associated with Hamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The department said a group chat on an encrypted communications platform directed supporters to a fundraising website and supplied rotating cryptocurrency addresses. Investigators traced the transactions and secured the assets through multiple seizure warrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FBI also obtained information on thousands of people who contacted Hamas online while attempting or considering cryptocurrency and traditional donations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-websites-and-servers-seized\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Websites and Servers Seized<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The financial seizures came alongside an effort to disrupt the infrastructure supporting the fundraising campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FBI&#8217;s Albuquerque Field Office identified and seized domains and servers controlled by the Al-Qassam Brigades, including infrastructure associated with its main website. Authorities said controlling that infrastructure helped investigators intercept cryptocurrency donations intended for Hamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation highlights a growing law-enforcement focus on cryptocurrency as part of broader financial investigations. While digital assets can move across borders quickly, blockchain transactions can also provide investigators with a permanent transaction trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest action follows earlier U.S. seizures involving cryptocurrency fundraising tied to Hamas. In March 2025, the Justice Department announced a separate seizure of roughly $201,400 in crypto linked to an alleged Hamas financing network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new seizures demonstrate that U.S. authorities are continuing to target both the digital assets and online infrastructure used to support terrorist financing.
