Binance’s reserves have increased by roughly 77,000 BTC since late April. The exchange now holds about 30% of the Bitcoin stored across major centralized exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Higher exchange balances often signal greater potential selling pressure. Traders can move coins into exchange wallets when they plan to take profits, hedge positions, or prepare for a sale. However, the data does not prove that selling is underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several factors can also push exchange reserves higher. These include custody transfers, internal wallet movements, market-making activity, and changes involving Binance’s Secure Asset Fund for Users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The timing makes the reserve increase more important. Bitcoin has recently struggled below the $83,000 to $85,000 area while broader spot demand remains uneven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Short-term Bitcoin holders also have substantial unrealized profits. That creates another potential source of supply if prices weaken and traders decide to lock in gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, exchange balances have not consistently predicted Bitcoin’s price moves this year. Total Bitcoin held on exchanges has changed far less than the cryptocurrency’s price, showing that reserve data alone can produce misleading signals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The key question is whether Binance’s growing reserves turn into actual selling. Traders will likely watch exchange netflows, whale deposits, spot trading volume, and institutional demand for confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A sustained decline in Binance reserves would reduce the immediate supply overhang. Conversely, continued inflows alongside weak demand could make it harder for Bitcoin to break above resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For now, the two-year reserve high is best viewed as a warning rather than proof of an approaching sell-off.
