Data from the Astana Financial Services Authority shows that regulated digital asset service providers generated $10.58 billion in transactions during the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figure highlights Kazakhstan&#8217;s growing role as a regional crypto hub. The market also attracted about 215,000 clients, while 29 digital asset service providers operated across the full regulatory regime and the FinTech Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-regulation-drives-market-expansion\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regulation drives market expansion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The growth comes as Kazakhstan moves toward a more comprehensive legal structure for digital assets. A national framework that took effect in May 2026 established rules covering crypto assets, stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets and digital versions of traditional financial instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The framework also introduced licensing requirements for crypto exchanges and registration requirements for digital asset trading and digital financial asset platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-key-developments-include\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key developments include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A licensing system for unsecured digital asset exchange operators<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regulatory treatment for stablecoins and tokenized assets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stronger capital, risk-management and anti-money-laundering requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greater integration between digital asset platforms and the banking system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Astana International Financial Centre remains a major part of the ecosystem. Its regulator has described the jurisdiction as one of the more advanced markets for implementing international standards for crypto and digital assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-new-incentives-target-wider-adoption\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">New incentives target wider adoption<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kazakhstan is now moving beyond regulation toward broader adoption. In July, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree aimed at accelerating development of the digital asset industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative includes plans to support stablecoin and digital asset use in cross-border settlements. It also encourages investors to move assets from foreign, unregulated platforms to licensed domestic providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, Kazakhstan is developing infrastructure for tokenized financial products. The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange has joined the regulated digital asset infrastructure as a registered platform operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The market&#8217;s expansion suggests that Kazakhstan is positioning regulation as a foundation for growth rather than a barrier to crypto adoption.
