It expects to begin onboarding its first clients during 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planned offering will initially support Bitcoin and Ether, along with selected stablecoins and e-money tokens, including USDC, EURC and EURAU. Deutsche Bank also plans to add tokenized financial instruments to its product roadmap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-institutional-crypto-infrastructure\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Institutional Crypto Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The custody platform will allow clients to hold digital assets and transfer them to third parties. Deutsche Bank will manage the wallets and private keys, reducing the need for customers to develop their own custody infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bank has designed the service around multiple security and operational controls. These include hardware-based key protection, separate warm and cold storage environments, multi-person approvals, segregated duties and backup and recovery procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-initial-customer-base-will-include\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The initial customer base will include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Corporations and asset managers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hedge funds and brokers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Custodians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sovereign institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deutsche Bank will also use selected external technology and infrastructure providers for specific components of the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-europe-s-digital-asset-market-expands\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Europe&#8217;s Digital Asset Market Expands<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planned launch reflects the growing integration of digital assets into traditional financial infrastructure. Deutsche Bank has previously highlighted custody as a key component in bringing blockchain-based assets into mainstream financial services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bank&#8217;s 2025 regulatory disclosures also indicated that it was developing an institutional-grade digital asset custody service, with a planned 2026 launch subject to regulatory approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Deutsche Bank said the timing, geographic availability and supported assets could change depending on regulatory requirements, internal approvals, market conditions and customer demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move gives institutional investors another regulated route for holding cryptocurrencies as European financial institutions continue developing services around digital assets, stablecoins and tokenized financial instruments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deutsche Bank plans to enter the institutional digital asset custody market this year, offering European corporate and institutional clients regulated storage for selected cryptocurrencies and stablecoins.
