The Layer 1 launched on Sept. 16 with more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders. Circle designed the network for financial markets, real-time payments and programmable money. It also uses USDC for transaction fees and targets sub-second settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-memecoin-trading-takes-the-lead\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Memecoin Trading Takes the Lead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Launchpad tokens accounted for about $336.3 million of Arc&#8217;s first-day trading volume, based on on-chain data. Arguspad alone generated roughly $202.4 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other launch platforms also contributed significant activity. Minara.fun recorded about $36.4 million, while Tolly generated approximately $19.7 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arc also processed 7.76 million transactions on its opening day. Traders created 97,025 new tokens, with Arguspad responsible for more than 83,000 of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figures show how quickly speculative trading can dominate a new blockchain. However, DEX volume measures trading activity rather than the amount of capital entering the network. The same funds can circulate through multiple trades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-institutional-ambitions-face-an-early-market-test\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Institutional Ambitions Face an Early Market Test<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Circle launched Arc with a validator group that includes major financial institutions such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, DTCC and ICE. The network also launched with established decentralized finance protocols and more than 100 applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The early trading mix therefore creates an unusual contrast. Circle built Arc around institutional financial infrastructure, while memecoin markets supplied most of its initial trading activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The key question now is whether the opening surge will persist.
