Anthropic has launched Claude for Financial Advisors, expanding its artificial intelligence push into wealth management with connections to major financial platforms including BlackRock, Charles Schwab and Addepar.
The new offering targets the research, portfolio analysis, meeting preparation and documentation tasks that consume much of an advisor’s working day. Anthropic said the product can bring client information from multiple systems into Claude, allowing advisors to analyze data and prepare materials through a single interface.
The launch also intensifies competition among major AI companies seeking a foothold in financial services. The offering arrives shortly after OpenAI introduced financial-industry tools aimed at investment bankers and equity researchers.
Connecting Financial Data
Claude for Financial Advisors uses connectors and specialized workflow skills to work with the systems advisors already rely on. Key integrations include:
- BlackRock, providing model portfolios, portfolio construction capabilities and institutional analytics through Advisor Center.
- Charles Schwab, providing access to balances, positions, transactions, cost basis, alerts and money-movement information through Schwab Advisor Services.
- Addepar, providing governed access to portfolio data and analytics spanning public and private markets.
- Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks, expanding access across planning, alternative investments, portfolio reporting and client-management workflows.
Anthropic said the system keeps advisors in control. Claude can prepare briefs, draft analyses and stage administrative actions, while critical tasks require advisor review and approval.
Compliance Becomes a Key Test
The product also includes compliance-focused capabilities. Claude can screen client-facing language for potential issues under the SEC Marketing Rule and help firms document AI-related workflows and reviews.
The move reflects a broader shift in wealth management toward AI-assisted operations. For advisors, the potential benefit is less time spent assembling information and more time available for client relationships and planning.
Claude for Financial Advisors is available through Anthropic’s enterprise offering, with the company recommending Enterprise plans for registered investment advisers that need audit logs and governance controls.
