Bitwise Asset Management is exploring the tokenization of its Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) through a new partnership with Superstate, signaling a broader push to bring traditional investment products onto blockchain networks.
The firms announced the initiative as part of an effort to develop infrastructure that can support tokenized shares of selected Bitwise funds. Bitwise said BSOL is expected to become its first tokenized ETF, although the company stressed that the launch is not guaranteed.
Tokenization Push Gains Momentum
Under the proposed structure, eligible BSOL shares could exist in tokenized form while maintaining the core investor experience. Bitwise said investor rights and existing purchase channels would remain unchanged.
However, tokenized shares could face restrictions on transfers outside the blockchain-based system. That approach would allow Bitwise to explore blockchain-native functionality without requiring investors to abandon conventional market infrastructure.
The move also builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. In June, Bitwise completed its transition to become the investment manager of the Bitwise Crypto Carry Fund, a tokenized fund that continues to use Superstate’s onchain infrastructure.
BSOL Could Open Door to More Funds
Bitwise launched BSOL in October 2025 as a U.S. exchange-traded product providing direct SOL exposure while seeking to generate additional returns through staking. The fund quickly surpassed $500 million in assets under management during its first 18 days of trading.
The latest initiative could extend beyond Solana. Bitwise said its partnership with Superstate is designed to develop tokenization capabilities for certain funds, creating a potential framework for additional products.
Tokenized investment funds have gained traction as financial firms explore blockchain-based settlement, transparency and access. For Bitwise, bringing an established ETF structure onto blockchain infrastructure could represent another step toward merging traditional markets with crypto-native financial systems.
