Cathie Wood Doubles Down on Bitcoin With $1.25 Million Bullish Target

Published:

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood has renewed her long-term bullish stance on Bitcoin, predicting the cryptocurrency could reach $750,000 in a base-case scenario and as high as $1.25 million in a bullish outlook by 2030.

Wood shared the updated forecast during a recent interview while reinforcing ARK Invest’s belief that Bitcoin is becoming a global “digital gold” asset. The projection reflects growing confidence in institutional adoption, declining supply on exchanges, and increasing demand from long-term investors.

Institutional Demand Remains the Key Driver

According to ARK Invest, institutional capital could become the biggest catalyst for Bitcoin’s future growth. The firm believes pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and large asset managers are still in the early stages of crypto adoption.

Wood previously stated that if institutional investors allocate even 5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin, the asset’s valuation could increase sharply over the next several years.

Several factors continue supporting ARK’s bullish thesis:

  • Falling Bitcoin balances on crypto exchanges
  • Strong conviction among long-term holders
  • Bitcoin’s fixed supply of 21 million coins
  • Rising interest following U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF approvals

ARK argues these trends could push Bitcoin into a dominant position within the broader digital asset market by the end of the decade.

Stablecoins Slightly Changed ARK’s Earlier Forecasts

Although Wood remains highly optimistic, ARK has slightly adjusted some earlier projections. The firm once floated a $1.5 million Bitcoin bull case but later reduced the estimate.

The adjustment came as dollar-backed stablecoins like Tether and USD Coin gained traction in emerging economies. Many users in inflation-hit countries now rely on stablecoins for payments and savings, reducing Bitcoin’s use as a transactional currency in those markets.

However, Wood still believes Bitcoin’s scarcity and decentralization give it a unique long-term advantage.

Critics Still Question the Forecast

Despite the optimism, critics continue questioning whether Bitcoin can realistically achieve such valuations due to its volatility and uncertain regulatory environment.

Even so, Wood remains one of crypto’s strongest long-term supporters. She believes Bitcoin’s growing integration into traditional finance could eventually position it as one of the world’s most important macro assets.
