Chainlink Whale Deposits $7.6 Million in LINK to Coinbase as Exchange Transfers Mount

Published:

An unidentified cryptocurrency whale has deposited another 620,420 Chainlink (LINK) tokens worth about $7.6 million into Coinbase, according to recent on-chain monitoring. The transaction adds to a larger series of LINK transfers that has drawn attention from crypto market watchers.

The latest move comes as the wallet continues to shift a substantial amount of LINK onto the exchange. The activity could increase the amount of Chainlink available for trading and may signal potential selling pressure, although a deposit alone does not confirm that the tokens will be sold.

Whale Builds $26 Million Coinbase Transfer

Over the past three weeks, the same whale has transferred approximately 2.41 million LINK to Coinbase. At current valuations, the cumulative deposits are worth about $26.04 million.

On-chain data indicates that the whale previously accumulated the LINK tokens through Binance. The repeated movement from private wallets to an exchange has therefore become a notable development for traders tracking large-holder behavior.

However, exchange deposits can serve several purposes. A whale may transfer assets for an outright sale, portfolio rebalancing, liquidity management, or other trading activity. Therefore, the transactions do not provide definitive evidence of an imminent sell-off.

The scale and frequency of the deposits could still matter for Chainlink markets. Large exchange inflows can increase available liquidity and potentially add short-term volatility if the holder sells a significant portion of the tokens.

The latest 620,420-LINK deposit represents another sizable transfer within a relatively short period. Traders may now monitor the address for additional movements and watch whether the deposited tokens leave Coinbase through subsequent transactions.

For now, the whale’s activity points to continued distribution of LINK toward a major exchange. The next transfers could provide a clearer indication of whether the strategy involves selling or simply repositioning a large Chainlink holding.
