Cronos (CRO), the blockchain that powers Crypto.com’s ecosystem, has revealed its 2025–2026 roadmap, aiming to establish itself as a leading infrastructure provider for tokenized financial markets. The plan focuses on three major pillars: infrastructure, distribution, and demand.
Building a Tokenization-First Infrastructure
Cronos is preparing to launch a purpose-built tokenization platform that spans multiple asset classes, including:
- Equities
- Real estate
- Commodities
- Insurance
- Investment funds
- Foreign exchange
The platform will feature instant T+0 settlement, lending, yield generation, and smooth integration with DeFi. A major highlight is its AI-native functionality, enabling tokenized assets to interact with AI agents through the upcoming AI Agent SDK and an on-chain Proof of Identity system.
Expanding Reach Through Crypto.com
To accelerate adoption, Cronos plans to tap into Crypto.com’s massive global network of more than 150 million retail users and 10 million merchants. With embedded fiat rails and on-chain support, the ecosystem will integrate seamlessly with Crypto.com’s Project Cortex—an AI-powered financial interface. This move is designed to make services like payments, staking, and lending easier to access for everyday users and merchants.
Driving CRO Demand Through Market Access
Cronos also aims to strengthen CRO’s market presence. The roadmap supports:
- CRO-backed ETFs in U.S. and European markets
- Partnerships with Digital Asset Treasury Companies
By 2026, the project targets:
- $20 billion in CRO demand from public markets
- $10 billion in tokenized real-world assets deployed on-chain
- 20 million users engaged across centralized and decentralized platforms
Technical Foundations for Growth
Cronos has already rolled out key upgrades to prepare for this next phase. Block times have been cut to 0.5 seconds, gas fees dropped by 90%, and daily transactions surged by 400%. These technical gains provide the scalability needed to support mass adoption.
By blending tokenization, AI, and distribution through Crypto.com, Cronos aims to bridge traditional finance with Web3. Its roadmap outlines a future where real-world assets become programmable, frictionless, and accessible on-chain, positioning Cronos as a major infrastructure layer in the evolving digital economy.
