Figure Technology Solutions has completed its $717 million acquisition of Kiavi, expanding its blockchain-based lending marketplace into residential real estate investor finance. The transaction closed Sept. 1 after Figure announced the agreement in June.
The deal adds Kiavi’s technology, operating platform and lending capabilities to Figure’s growing financial infrastructure. Kiavi provides short-term Residential Transition Loans and longer-term Debt Service Coverage Ratio loans to real estate investors.
Bringing Real Estate Lending Onchain
The acquisition gives Figure access to a lending business expected to contribute more than $7 billion in annual first-lien loan volume. Figure plans to distribute Kiavi’s lending products through its blockchain-native Figure Connect marketplace.
The company also expects the transaction to add more than $100 million in monthly flow to Democratized Prime, its on-chain warehouse marketplace. That platform connects lenders with investors seeking institutional-grade returns.
The transaction separates Kiavi’s operating platform from loans held on its balance sheet. Figure acquired the technology and operating business, while a joint venture between Figure and Sixth Street purchased loans from Kiavi’s balance sheet.
Figure said the move could improve lending efficiency by shifting origination, funding and loan trading onto blockchain infrastructure. The company is also integrating Kiavi across its network of more than 480 active ecosystem partners.
Kiavi Leadership Joins Figure
Kiavi CEO Arvind Mohan will become Figure’s chief business officer. He will oversee the rollout of Kiavi’s platform across Figure’s broader ecosystem.
Figure said the acquisition strengthens its position in first-lien lending and supports its strategy of expanding tokenized real-world assets. The company has also highlighted the potential to reduce operational friction as more lending activity moves onto its blockchain marketplace.
The transaction comes as Figure targets the broader home equity and residential credit markets. Figure said the combined platform can help standardize lending and expand access to capital across a large and fragmented market.
The Kiavi acquisition therefore marks a significant step beyond Figure’s existing consumer lending operations. It gives the company a larger pipeline of real-world credit assets while testing blockchain infrastructure at greater scale.
