Over 70 Crypto Firms Unite to Build Open AI Agent Framework

Published:

In a coordinated push against Big Tech’s dominance in artificial intelligence, more than 70 crypto and blockchain firms—including Yuga Labs, Magic Eden, Arbitrum, and Venice.ai—have joined forces to support Thinkagents.ai’s new open-source framework. The initiative introduces an interoperable AI protocol designed to empower users and developers while operating across decentralized networks.

A Decentralized Approach to AI Development

At the heart of this initiative is the Think Agent Standard—an open protocol developed by Thinkagents.ai under the THINK Protocol, in partnership with the Independent AI Institute. This framework allows autonomous AI agents to function onchain, enabling communication and transactions across multiple decentralized environments.

Mike Anderson, a core contributor at THINK, describes the protocol as a game-changer for both AI development and user empowerment.

“By standardizing the way users interact with AI,” Anderson said, “we’re making it easier for builders to align around a common goal—getting customers. And in AI, acquiring users is incredibly difficult.”

The framework is already live, inviting developers, enterprises, and Web3 communities to experiment with and build upon it.

Uniting Around a Use Case

The THINK team validated their idea through a creative demonstration: enabling AI agents to play “Street Fighter 3” against one another. This use case attracted collaboration from nine separate infrastructure providers and drew an audience of 30,000 viewers.

By showcasing how multiple decentralized companies could work together seamlessly, the event illustrated the potential of standardized AI infrastructure. The experience emphasized not just functionality, but also user ownership—of data, identity, keys, and encryption.

“The problem isn’t the lack of builders,” Anderson noted. “It’s about aligning them around actual use cases and delivering a user experience that makes owning AI agents intuitive and beneficial.”

Rethinking Ownership in the AI Era

Thinkagents.ai is designed to flip the conventional AI model, where users often trade their personal data for access. Instead, this new decentralized model puts control back in users’ hands.

Anderson compared the potential impact to an alternate reality for social media: “What if, back in 2003, we’d had a standard that let you own your social media identity? Your account, posts, and data would follow you, and you’d choose whether to see ads—with benefits flowing to you.”

This vision drives Thinkagents.ai: a future where users aren’t just participants but stakeholders in the AI economy.
