Strategy sold 1,690 Bitcoin for about $108.6 million as the company continued reshaping its balance sheet and expanding its cash reserves.
The Bitcoin treasury company sold the coins between Aug. 3 and Aug. 9 at an average price of roughly $64,262 per Bitcoin. The transaction came as Strategy continued using capital markets and Bitcoin holdings to support its preferred-stock strategy.
STRC Buyback Drives Bitcoin Sale
Strategy directed the full $108.6 million from the Bitcoin sale toward repurchasing its STRC preferred shares. The company bought approximately 1.15 million STRC shares as part of its ongoing $1 billion repurchase program.
The transaction marks another step in Strategy’s evolving capital strategy. Rather than simply accumulating Bitcoin, the company is now using portions of its holdings to fund corporate actions and manage its preferred securities.
However, the sale leaves Strategy with an enormous Bitcoin position. After the transaction, the company held 840,447 BTC, maintaining its position as one of the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holders.
Dollar Reserve Reaches $4.65 Billion
Strategy also raised substantial capital through sales of its MSTR common stock. The company sold about 6.59 million shares and generated approximately $653.1 million.
Much of that capital increased Strategy’s U.S. dollar reserve, which reached about $4.65 billion. The growing reserve gives the company additional liquidity to c over obligations, support preferred dividends and pursue future capital-market transactions.
The latest Bitcoin sale also highlights a broader shift in Strategy’s approach. The company remains heavily committed to Bitcoin, but recent transactions show that it is increasingly managing the asset as a source of financial flexibility.
For investors, the strategy creates a balance between maintaining a massive Bitcoin position and generating liquidity through selective sales. As Strategy expands its cash reserve and manages its preferred securities, markets will continue watching whether the company resumes Bitcoin accumulation or uses more of its holdings for capital-management needs.
