Tassat Secures U.S. Patent for Yield-in-Transit Blockchain Settlement Tech

How Tassat’s New Patent Advances Real-Time Blockchain Finance

Tassat Group has earned a U.S. patent for its yield-in-transit settlement technology, a development that highlights the growing shift toward on-chain financial infrastructure. The innovation lets institutions earn interest on funds while transactions move through the settlement process. This approach boosts efficiency because money continues to generate yield instead of sitting idle.

Inside the Lynq Settlement Network

The patented model supports Lynq, a real-time institutional settlement network launched earlier this year. Tassat built Lynq with Arca Labs and tZERO Group to provide a faster and more flexible path for institutional payments. The system uses tokenized shares of the Arca Institutional U.S. Treasury Fund, or TFND, which operates on the Avalanche blockchain.

Instead of relying on traditional bank money, Lynq settles transactions with tokenized Treasury fund shares. This structure turns the fund into the payment instrument and gives users a regulated, blockchain based option for moving capital.

Key features include:

  • Continuous intraday interest accrual during settlement
  • Yield calculations in intervals as short as five seconds
  • Daily interest distribution to participating institutions

These capabilities help firms capture value even as funds are in motion, which improves liquidity and encourages faster settlement activity.

The patent strengthens Tassat’s position as demand rises for real-time, blockchain enabled settlement rails. Many institutions want secure systems that can reduce operational friction while generating yield. Furthermore, legacy banking channels face pressure to modernize, which creates space for solutions like Lynq.

Analysts see this milestone as progress toward connecting traditional finance with decentralized finance. The regulated design of Lynq helps institutions access blockchain efficiency without stepping outside familiar compliance frameworks.

Tassat also gains a competitive edge. If other companies try to introduce similar yield-bearing settlement models, they may face limitations because Tassat now holds exclusive rights to this approach. For the moment, Lynq stands out as one of the few platforms that can offer both real-time settlement and yield generation at the same time.
