U.S. spot crypto exchange-traded funds recorded a powerful wave of buying on Aug. 19, with Bitcoin and Ethereum products attracting a combined $706 million. The inflows came as the broader crypto market rallied sharply, signaling renewed institutional demand.
Bitcoin Leads the ETF Revival
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $517.2 million in net inflows on Aug. 19. That marked their strongest daily performance since early May. BlackRock’s IBIT led the group with about $284.7 million, accounting for more than half of the day’s Bitcoin ETF inflows.
The surge coincided with Bitcoin’s move above $69,000. The cryptocurrency gained more than 6% during the session as investors responded to improving liquidity expectations and a broader recovery in risk assets.
Ethereum Records Its Strongest Inflow in Months
Ethereum ETFs added roughly $189 million on Aug. 19, marking their largest single-day inflow since October 2025. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for approximately $122 million of the total.
The strength across both major assets pushed combined Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF inflows to about $706 million. That suggests institutional buyers were returning to the market beyond Bitcoin alone.
Altcoin Funds Remain Smaller
Solana and XRP ETFs also recorded positive flows, although their totals remained far below those of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Available market data puts Solana’s inflow at about $2.5 million and XRP’s at roughly $2.35 million.
Hyperliquid’s HYPE product moved in the opposite direction, with reports indicating approximately $2 million in outflows. The divergence highlights how institutional demand remains concentrated in the largest crypto assets even as newer products attract attention.
The latest figures provide a stronger signal of renewed ETF demand after a period of weaker flows. Sustained inflows over the coming sessions could offer further evidence that institutional investors are rebuilding exposure to digital assets.
