A New On-Chain Fund Targets Digital Asset Users
WisdomTree has introduced a blockchain-native fund designed for investors who prefer managing assets in a digital environment. The WisdomTree Equity Premium Income Digital Fund, known by its token ticker EPXC and fund ticker WTPIX, is now live on WisdomTree Prime and WisdomTree Connect. The company positioned the launch as another step toward merging traditional finance with on-chain investment tools.
How EPXC Works in Today’s Market
The fund tracks the Volos U.S. Large Cap Target 2.5 percent PutWrite Index. It uses a put-writing strategy that aims to generate steady income while smoothing market volatility. EPXC sells cash-secured put options on an ETF that mirrors the performance of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust. The strategy targets a premium of roughly 2.5 percent.
This approach may outperform simple equity exposure during flat or slightly rising markets. Investors still face risk if the ETF drops below the strike price at expiration. The upside is also capped during strong rallies.
Key features include:
- Tokenized fund shares recorded directly on blockchain networks.
- Access through regulated digital platforms.
- A familiar option overlay strategy packaged for crypto-native users.
Tokenization Expands Beyond Ethereum
WisdomTree has spent the year widening its tokenized fund footprint. The company added support for Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, and Optimism while continuing to offer tokenized money market, equity, and fixed income products. EPXC is the fifteenth fund added to this lineup. The firm believes this structure strengthens transparency, improves accessibility, and appeals to users who already value blockchain efficiency.
The launch highlights a growing trend of financial institutions adopting blockchain for regulated products. For crypto-focused investors, EPXC provides a way to explore options strategies without leaving the digital ecosystem. However, blockchain settlement risks, liquidity challenges, and evolving regulations remain important considerations.
