Ark Invest Buys $6.6 Million in Coinbase, Circle and Robinhood as Crypto Stocks Decline
Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest increased its exposure to cryptocurrency-related stocks on Monday, November 2, purchasing approximately $6.6 million worth of shares across three companies. The investment firm acquired $3.4 million in Coinbase, $2.6 million in Circle and $645,820 in Robinhood as all three stocks closed lower.
The purchases highlight Ark Invest’s continued interest in digital asset businesses despite weakness across cryptocurrency-linked equities. However, the firm also reduced its exposure to crypto exchange operator Bullish during the same trading session.
Ark Invest Expands Coinbase and Circle Holdings
Ark Invest purchased approximately 24,800 Coinbase shares across three exchange-traded funds. These included the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF).
Coinbase represented the largest investment among Monday’s purchases, with shares valued at approximately $3.4 million. The cryptocurrency exchange remains an important component of Ark’s broader investment strategy focused on financial technology and digital assets.
Meanwhile, Ark acquired approximately 35,700 shares of Circle Internet Group, valued at $2.6 million. Circle operates the USDC stablecoin, making it a significant participant in the growing market for dollar-backed digital assets.
The investment manager also purchased approximately 7,703 Robinhood shares through its ARKF fund. The transaction, worth around $645,820, increased Ark’s exposure to a brokerage platform offering cryptocurrency trading alongside traditional financial products.
Ark Reduces Bullish Stake Amid Market Weakness
While Ark expanded three positions, it simultaneously reduced its investment in Bullish. The firm sold approximately 104,200 shares of the cryptocurrency exchange operator, representing roughly $2.3 million.
Bullish shares declined approximately 5.6% during Monday’s session, reflecting broader pressure on cryptocurrency-related equities. The sale demonstrates Ark’s willingness to adjust individual holdings even while increasing its overall exposure to selected digital asset companies.
Ark Invest regularly rebalances its actively managed ETFs to maintain portfolio diversification and control concentration risks. Its investment approach generally prevents individual holdings from exceeding 10% of a fund’s portfolio.
The latest transactions illustrate how Ark continues to navigate volatility across the cryptocurrency industry. Although declining share prices create opportunities to increase positions, the firm’s simultaneous purchases and sales suggest a selective approach rather than uniform buying across the sector.
