Bitcoin ETF Outflows Extend to Two Days as Ethereum, XRP and Solana Funds Attract Fresh Capital

Published:

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $120.24 million in net outflows on September 9, marking a second consecutive trading session of withdrawals. The latest outflow highlights a split in investor demand across major cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds.

The data also showed continued interest in alternative crypto assets. Ethereum, XRP and Solana spot ETFs all posted net inflows during the same session, creating a notable divergence from Bitcoin investment products.

Bitcoin Leads ETF Withdrawals

Bitcoin funds saw the largest capital reduction among the major spot crypto ETF categories. ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF recorded the biggest individual outflow at about $78 million. Grayscale’s Bitcoin fund followed with roughly $27.2 million in withdrawals, while BlackRock’s IBIT lost about $19.5 million.

Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin ETF was the only product to report an inflow, adding approximately $4.5 million. The overall Bitcoin ETF outflow reached $120.24 million, according to recently reported fund-flow data.

The two-day reversal comes after stronger institutional demand earlier in September. Bitcoin ETFs had recorded substantial inflows during the previous week, including more than $1 billion across three trading sessions.

Altcoin ETFs Buck the Trend

Ethereum ETFs attracted about $34.75 million on September 9. XRP products added approximately $12.29 million, while Solana ETFs received around $11.73 million.

The contrasting flows suggest that some investors may be rotating capital within the crypto ETF market rather than exiting digital assets entirely. However, one day of flows does not establish a lasting trend.

Bitcoin also faced broader market pressure as investors assessed interest-rate risks ahead of the Federal Reserve’s September policy decision. The cryptocurrency traded near $79,000 during the latest session, while heightened volatility continued across digital assets.

For crypto investors, the ETF split offers an important signal. Bitcoin demand has weakened over two sessions, but fresh money continues to enter several major altcoin investment products.
