BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Sees $405 Million Outflow as Investors Accelerate Withdrawals
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $405.3 million in net outflows on November 2, 2026, marking its largest single-day withdrawal since June. The sharp decline reflected investors reducing their Bitcoin exposure rather than BlackRock independently deciding to sell cryptocurrency.
The withdrawals came as U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) faced renewed selling pressure. Total outflows reached $398.6 million during the session, highlighting growing caution among institutional and retail investors.
BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Records Biggest Withdrawal Since June
IBIT’s $405.3 million outflow represented its largest daily redemption since June 26, when investors withdrew approximately $444.5 million. Meanwhile, Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund attracted $6.7 million in fresh investments, partially offsetting the broader market decline.
The figures demonstrate how investor activity can influence Bitcoin ETF flows. Although BlackRock manages IBIT, shareholders ultimately determine whether they buy or redeem fund shares.
When investors exit a spot Bitcoin ETF, the redemption process can reduce the Bitcoin backing the fund. However, these transactions do not necessarily mean BlackRock has adopted a bearish outlook on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin ETF Outflows Continue Into November
The November 2 withdrawals followed a difficult October for cryptocurrency investment products. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $515 million in net outflows during October, signaling weakening investor demand.
Selling pressure continued throughout the opening days of November. IBIT subsequently recorded another $95 million in withdrawals on November 3 and $201.2 million on November 4.
Together, these three sessions produced approximately $701.5 million in net outflows from BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF. However, competing products attracted fresh capital, suggesting investors were not abandoning Bitcoin ETFs uniformly.
Fidelity’s Bitcoin fund received $236.7 million on November 4 alone. Consequently, the broader U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market registered $74.6 million in net inflows that day despite continued IBIT withdrawals.
What the Withdrawals Mean for Bitcoin Investors
Large Bitcoin ETF redemptions can influence market sentiment because institutional investment products represent an important source of cryptocurrency demand. Sustained withdrawals may increase selling pressure, particularly during periods of heightened volatility.
However, ETF outflows alone cannot establish whether Bitcoin prices will continue declining. Investors also consider macroeconomic conditions, liquidity, institutional positioning, and broader cryptocurrency market developments.
For now, BlackRock’s substantial withdrawals highlight shifting investor sentiment rather than a direct investment decision by the asset manager. Future ETF flows will help determine whether the recent selling represents temporary portfolio adjustments or a longer-lasting reduction in Bitcoin exposure.
