Strive Buys $335 Million in Bitcoin, Lifting Holdings to 36,818 BTC
Bitcoin treasury company Strive has expanded its cryptocurrency reserves with a $335 million Bitcoin purchase, bringing its total holdings to 36,818 BTC. The latest acquisition strengthens its position among the largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holders.
The Nasdaq-listed company purchased 4,045 BTC between October 12 and October 16, 2026, at an average price of $82,803 per coin. The transactions reflect Strive’s aggressive accumulation strategy as it continues raising capital through equity financing.
Strive Overtakes MARA in Corporate Bitcoin Rankings
Strive’s latest purchases have positioned it as the fourth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, surpassing MARA Holdings. Its cryptocurrency reserves now carry an estimated market value of approximately $3 billion.
The company initially acquired 2,822 BTC for approximately $235 million on October 12 and 13. That transaction increased its holdings to 35,595 BTC, narrowly exceeding MARA’s reported reserves of 35,577 BTC.
Strive subsequently purchased another 1,223 BTC between October 14 and 16 for approximately $100 million. The company paid an average of $81,734 per Bitcoin during the second acquisition, including transaction expenses.
Equity Financing Supports Bitcoin Expansion
Strive continues using equity financing to support its Bitcoin accumulation strategy. The company generated approximately $369 million through warrant exercises on October 12 and 13, issuing roughly 13.7 million common shares.
Consequently, its effective share count increased 12.4%, while Bitcoin holdings grew approximately 12.3% during the same period. This kept the amount of Bitcoin backing each effective share relatively stable despite the substantial treasury expansion.
The company also recently priced a $630 million preferred stock offering under its SATS program. The securities carry a fixed 15% annual dividend, with payments scheduled to begin November 9, subject to board approval.
Proceeds from the offering could support additional Bitcoin acquisitions and other corporate activities. However, Strive has not committed the entire amount to cryptocurrency purchases.
Corporate Bitcoin Strategy Faces New Opportunities and Risks
Strive’s latest acquisitions highlight the growing role of capital markets in financing corporate Bitcoin treasuries. Companies pursuing similar strategies increasingly rely on stock offerings and other financial instruments to expand their cryptocurrency exposure.
However, this approach introduces risks beyond Bitcoin price volatility. Additional share issuance can dilute existing shareholders, while preferred stock dividends create ongoing financial obligations.
Strive’s continued expansion will depend partly on its ability to secure financing while maintaining shareholder value. Its growing reserves also demonstrate how corporate Bitcoin ownership continues evolving into a competitive institutional investment strategy.
